Meet Dr. Steven Nelson

Dr. Steve Nelson

Dr. Steve Nelson followed his father's footsteps in graduating from the University of Iowa where he completed his undergraduate and dental degrees. He obtained his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas where he earned a Master's degree in Oral Biology. Steve brings expertise in Orthognathic and Reconstructive Surgery and is a member of the Rose Hospital Craniofacial and Cleft Palate team.
 

Dr. Nelson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is active in the American Dental Association (ADA), formerly serving as Vice Chairman of the Council on Access Prevention and Inter-Professional Relations. He is currently serving on the Colorado Dental Association (CDA) Sunset Review Task Force and is a board member of the Colorado Dental Political Action Committee. He has been re-elected to his 10th term as the Speaker of the House of Delegates for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). He has also been involved with numerous committees of the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society. In addition, he has been elected by his peers as a Fellow in the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Steve is also very active in the community currently serving as  President for the Colorado Dental Lifeline Network, formerly known as the Colorado Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped.

Steve is married and has 3 active sons.  In his spare time he likes to summit fourteener’s with his sons, fly fish and play tennis with his wife.
